When doing a ping -t login.uogamers.com in cmd I ping : 255-259. And the rest of the servers are like this.

Texas: 268-275
Dallas: 265-269
Houston: 266-270
San Jose: 280-285
Washington DC: 225-234
Seattle: 285-292

So my obvious choise would be Washington anyday :)

Love from Denmark.

Just in my honest opinion I think we should be placing the server in a place where it reduces the ping for the country's that have the highest ping. Looking at peoples pings and asking people from various country's it seems that the Asia/Pacific area has the highest ping of around 200-300, followed by Europe which is normally in the 100's. Also Ryan has said that based on the player bases IP's that the most amount of people are from California, Texas then Asia. Seeing as though the top #1 and #3 amount of players would benefit from a west coast server it would seem that it would help the most people. Another thing to consider is that by placing the the server in Washington DC all of the Asia/Pacific pings will go up, even know they already have the highest ping, which is ALOT higher then that of the Americans that want to have even lower ping when theirs is already below 100.

I've tried all IPs from 3 different states here in Brazil and Washington DC is by far the best option for brazilians, avg 140-165.

this is the worst idea ever. The only way to give asian players or players in europe any type of competitive ping will be to move the shard into asia or europe. And looking through all the data that asian players have posted, their best ping from san jose will be at 154. However in doing so, you are causing east coast players to get into the 80s and 90s, and there are a lot more eastern based players than asian players on this shard. And by east coast players, I mean the entire east coast, not just 1 state.

The trade off is simply not worth it. The asian community will never have any type of fair environments on this server until technology can remove distance and hops from the equations.

A centralized texas server is going to give the central players about 20-30 ping, east and west coast around 40-50(outliers excluded). If you say this isn't a fair compromise, you are being a sore loser.

or if you place it on west its looking like this: 30 50 80, or east it will be 80 50 30. Looks a lot better to have it centralized and looking much more like 45 25 45. I ping 42 now, trust me with 45 ping you can do anything you've ever wanted to do on this shard. You move quick.

actually i guarantee east coast players sit in the majority of places 4 - all, and if you add them up it will greatly outnumber the single state of california or asia.
The sheer numbers of people in asia outweigh the us as a whole; starting and playing uo they heard about from a friend for a day would really increase their ip numbers a lot. I would like ryan to run a check of ip's this past month and to post those results. Im just saying there is absolutely no way asia should be sitting where it sits now. Theres only a few asians i run into a week.

I kid, but really I guess the only valuable information I have to add here would be that my connection times out frequently with Houston, but not the other Central locations.

My numbers are for recent logins, not all time.

Your constant doubt is funny though...

I guess he really doesn't want to be on the west coasts shoes who had like bong said, worse ping then australia or europe at times.

I find it funny, however that all the East Coast people don't take in consideration population AND also us West Coasties had to put up with 100+ ping for years but they don't want to take their turn :p

To be non biased though, if Ryan hadn't said coasts are mostly what he is considering I would of said Texas BUT since he broke out the numbers of RECENT log ins and the majority are on the west coast then, he should cater to the most population not the minority.

:) Kas (UK) :) -> Been running Ping-pro for some time now ( 30 mins) and looks like the winner is Washington DC! with less ping. Note for Ryan: not many people know about this post you should broadcast it in game

You guys have to remember that a lot of Asian players do not use the forums at all, some may not even speak English. Logically speaking, when was the last time you put something for sell on the forums or bought something from an Asian player?

We do have some players from Asia using the forums, but I would stand by that a majority of them do not use the forums.

Also, any location would really be good for me, I'm below a 100 ping at all places so East or West Coast would work, just having a ping below 50 for once would be something awesome to see.
