We're looking to solicit some feedback from the community on what it is you find yourself constantly setting up with RunUO?

Examples:

  • Shard Name
  • DataPath
  • Test Center Enabled
  • Custom Housing Enabled
  • Max Accounts per IP
  • Max Chars per Account
  • Lockdown Level
  • Character Deletion Time
  • Starting Locations
  • Client Version
  • Assistant Configuration (AssistUO/Razor feature detection/blocking)
  • Expansions On/Off
  • Save Timer
  • Save Directory
  • Backup Directory
  • Backup Depth (3 backups etc..)
  • Server IP's and Ports
Bring it... :)

The normal things I do whenever I set up a server are (besides things already listed)
Disable Lenient Kick
Statcap
Skillcap
Disable Young System

Does this mean we may have a central settings file coming? ;)

Yes - we are working on a super sexy way of managing your RunUO shard. This will involve a centralized configuration repository which will let you set hundreds of options in one place, in one interface.

Thanks,
Ryan

I currently use a Features List system as it is. I'm excited to see something similar implemented into RunUO. Mine has a ton (all the way down to the little things like armor bonuses and parry chance and what not), but I can toss a few suggestions that I'm sure you'd find useful. Not sure how "far out" you want to go, so I'll divide these up.

Basics:
  • Auto-Account Creation
  • Welcome message
  • House "slots"
  • Skill gain
Advanced:
  • Stealth steps
  • Decay time on corpses
  • Max Resists
  • Reagents on/off
  • Various "caps" (such as FC/FCR)
  • Vendor / Facet gold control
  • Individual skill difficulty (not necessary)

This sound fantastic. I know I am a hell of a newbie in this but the things spoken of here would be a great addition.

Great news ! Thanks for it !

May I add theses ones :
- Max characters per account
- House Decay (enable or disable + sometimes a bit more tuning)

Others have already been said :)

More on the admin menus...

Ways to find characters / items by name or serial numbers entered
Better ways NOT to accidently dupe all the door etc (had someone do that before)
Account management, more details via 1 or 2 clicks ???

Just a few.

Have to agree with the above post wholeheartedly. The admin menus are severely limited. Not a ton of filtering options, and some basic functions aren't even available. Would love to things simplified a bit more, and expanded. I can offer more details but I don't want to derail the thread. :p

Please make a thread regarding the Admin menu expansions in Gen Disc or Mod Suggestions... I'd be happy to discuss this and make some of these things a bit more easy.

By the way for what it's worth, it's really not hard to find characters/items by name or serial:

[global interface where playermaobile name = "Ryan"
[global interface where baseitem name = "ItemName"
[serial interface 0x01

Just examples...

Not sure if that was directed at me per say, but I was actually referencing filters such as game-time, last online date, etc. Just pressing the search button now organizes all accounts by access level and online/offline status. I'll get around to creating that thread a bit later, want to put some actual thought into it (unless someone beats me to it). :)

Sorry that was for FingersMcSteal above...
