2002. I found out around beta 16, and joined when beta 20 came out. I haven't ran a UO shard in ages, but this project still holds great interest.

9 years here too. I think I started following the project at like alpha 2 or something ridiculously early. Remember seeing the very first screenshot where Ryan somehow got a windows dropdown menu in-game and thought that looked exciting as hell (because I was 13 or something). It was when I first found out and got started with .NET (which was pretty new at the time!). I now have a degree in computer science and work as a full-time developer, occasionally with C#. I like to think RunUO is what got me started with programming for real, and that I have Ryan/RunUO to thank for a lot of that.

Hah, just a bit older than mine ;)

I remember running around on the first beta test shard of RunUO before they relased the first beat 1 package. Man we were so excited to get to work on it! POL 92 was really getting old at the time. what a pain that was to work with.

2003 for me folks. I almost missed this thread trying to figure out if the online pharm add in general programing had any good deals on Viagra.

I started here like a total newbie.
Here's my first thread: (pls don't bump it, i would feel shame on myself xD)
http://www.runuo.com/community/threads/help-pls.91761/

Looked like i needed one. haha (hopefully i got thread hi-jacked)
(2008 as it seems, i guess i had 13 years old at that time)

Making a server just made me hop into programming, and i end now in programming classes to get a diploma.
(And i'm reaching 98% in my programmation classes just because i coded in UO)

And yea, shame on me. xD

Yes, time flies! I just looked at my acct age and this is my 10th year on here...seems like just yesterday I was playing Ultima III on my Commodore 64 back in 1984...I just had a 30 year flashback of using graph paper and a pencil to map the dungeons and to record the spots on my cassette tape player to load the dungeons faster. It's amazing to see how far this game has come!
