How do i get UO to run?

Ive Downloded Run-UO-Bata-3 and doble ckiked Run Uo and the black screen comes up.... so now what, how do i make it work, how do i get my shard to run?

Can enyone help me?

you have to wait alittle bit and it will compile the scripts and start the world

Kind of sounds like you have never ran an EUM before, eh?
You need to put your IP adress in the login.cfg file (in the UO client folder)
and with that done, You do as you did before, Run the RunUO.exe..
should only take about 5 seconds, and you are loaded..
Start your client and create an account.

hehe are you joking?? if not setting up a server isnt going to be the easyest thing for you to do. not trying to put you down or anything just being honest

Need a hand?

Your IP adress is your unique adress for your computer on a network, Now your defult internal address is "127.0.0.1" (this is your own computer)

Now dont go playing with the login.cfg file just yet, Try downloading UOGateway... And using it to connect to your server, it makes it alot easier IMHO. But if your set on editing your login.cfg file just open it with notepad and change this:


;Loginservers for Ultima Online
;Do not edit this file or patching will fail! Always save a backup.
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7775
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7775
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7776
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7776

To look like this:

;Loginservers for Ultima Online
;Do not edit this file or patching will fail! Always save a backup.
LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2593
LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2593
LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2593
LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2593

If you deside to edit the file yourself you will need Ignition, i beleive it can be found in the downloads section, as with UOGateway... Hope this helps..

Well, thats not a good idea to tell someone that is helpless, atm.
Unless you dont want to play on an OSI shard, thats fine.
But if you just want to change from OSI login ip#'s to your own for now..
Just add a line like this...

LoginServer=login.owo.com,7775
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7775
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7776
LoginServer=login.owo.com,7776
LoginServer=127.0.0.1,2953 <------

(Of course, dont leave that arrow pointing to the new Line, like that :) )
Then you need to block the original ones out, with a Semi-Colon, like this.

When you want to re-use the OSI login ip#'s, remove those 4 semi-colon's from the original 4 entries, and place one infromt of your added IP line, to block yours, and you can log into OSI again. :)

Sorry Its me agin :rolleyes: this time tho i cant seem to log into my account...
i tipe in my name and password but it just sits there varrifying my account...
And i cant fine Ignition enyware on this site, is there enyware els i can find it?

Thanks sooo much for helping me (if you do) I know im a newb at this (but wasint evryone a nowb at some time).

thats cause this is still in bata not everything is scripted yet you'll have to script it or wait for someone to script it or wait till the final release of runUO

How do i make it so i can use the GM stone?
How do i Tern my armore difrent colors like tru wite?
I cant lode dungons, Why?
How do i make the fire steed show its Tru color when riding?
How do i go 3D When i started on 2D?
Can i downlode files for new animals or monsters someware?
Can i downlode files for new items someware?
How do i make it so i can rais my stats above 225?
how do i make it so i can raise my skills over 700.0?
How do i change me hair?

Try looking through the available scripts that came with the server.
This will tell you what you currently can and can't do!

It doesnt do everything because its still in early beta not everything has been programmed yet.

The idea of the beta is to use it and if you find any bugs report them so they get fixed now while they are still small problems instead of later when they become BIG problems.

If you goto http://www.runuo.com/scripts there is some scripts there to download to add to the emulator that will allow you to do more than what comes with the base download.

Hope you were not expecting a OSI in a box from a early beta release. :)

Seriously thou I hope they dont OSI in a box Prefer custom worlds myself one of the reasons I gave up on OSI was everything got old Hat.
