trying to connect to the public

Does anyone remember me? I used to run the Pandora shard long ago, but ever since I moved and went from a cable to ADSL I have not been able to allow others to connect to my shard.

I am hoping I can get a little help here.

I believe I have the router settings correct, need a tester

the following is how I'm connected

www > adsl modem > router > shard

I will give my IP address and a test account and password to whomever would care to help (not posting it public)

If the settings are not correct then I'm at a loss.

Set Up a static IP on the compute/ server example of your ip 192.168.1.100
Change your Scripts/Misc/Serverlist.cs to match your WAN ip by attaining it from http://whatismyip.com
Login Router and port forward 2593 TCP/UDP to 192.168.1.100

Try login on server using razor and ipaddress you got from whatismyip.com using port 2593

Soteric, thanks... the results... Success: I can see your service on ***.***.***.*** on port (2593)
Your ISP is not blocking port 2593

Twlizer thank you, but the adsl modem is forwarding to the router and the router is forwarding to the server IP address, I cant seem to forward the adsl modem directly to the server address (NAPT server IP address is not a valid host LAN address)

I tried setting razor to my IP address assigned by my isp (whatismyip.com), and cannot connect (quadruple checked and serverlist.cs is set correctly)

not really sure about that one... I see "Sagem communications SAS" on it, I don't see motorola anywhere, but like everything now, it is made in China

plug directly in to it with your pc and do a

Ipconfig /all

Get the gateway address and try and log into it using explorer. If you can forward the port to the router you use then the router forwarded to the PC

before I start unplugging cables and such, let me tell you how it is set up now. Maybe I already have it set the way you are saying (or maybe not)

my adsl modem config IP is: 192.168.254.254
my router config IP address is: 192.168.123.254
the modem assigns this IP to the router: 192.168.254.1
the router assigns this ip to the server: 192.168.123.173

I have the forwarding on the modem for port 2593 set to 192.168.254.1
I have the forward on the router for port 2593 set to 192.168.123.173
I have the serverlist.cs set to my IP address as stated by whatismyip.com

does that sound right to you?

If you can get on the router and internet is functioning the gateway is 192.168.254.254 which is a local ip.

Go to whatismyip.com and see what your WAN ip is.

Also open up iexplorer and type http://192.168.254.254 you should get a admin page. This is where you will forward port 2593 to the routers ipaddress. then forward that same port on the router to the static IP address on your computer.

Discover this information

The Modems WAN address (Whatismyip.com)
The Modems LAN address (192.168.254.1 through 192.168.254.254 (Is my guess)

The routers Gateway ( I assume is going to be 192.168.123.173)

Set a static Ip on your PC (With above correct 192.168.123.100)

Use the default gateway of the modem to log in to the modem My guess is 192.168.254.254 Forward the ip using port 2593 to the routers IP 192.168.123.173 then log in to the routers gateway. Discover the routers gateway by doing at command prompt c: Ipconfig /all. It will tell you the gateway. use that number again in Iexplorer to log into routers admin page and for the static ip to the computer 192.168.123.100 UDPand TCP port 2593.

If you do that it will work

I just did all of that. I followed your steps to the letter and I must say, it was all already set up exactly as you stated, but I redid it all just in case...and nothing. It still doesn't work. There has to be some advanced setting I've missed somewhere

I'm not new to running a shard, but this connection issue baffles me. No problems on cable, but adsl has stumped everyone so far. It's been over 6 years since I've been able to have my shard online.

Router =
Code:
LAN
MAC Address 00-C0-49-A8-86-FD
IP Address 192.168.123.254
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
DHCP Server Enable
WAN
MAC Address 00-C0-49-A8-86-FC
Remaining Lease Time 1193046:15:35
IP Address 192.168.254.2
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.254.254
Domain Name Server 192.168.254.254, 192.168.254.254

the router assigned the static IP of 192.168.123.173 to the server

I set the ADSL modem to forward to 192.168.254.2
I set the router to forward to 192.168.123.173

OK it look right

Routers gateway to Modem is 192.168.254.254

That is the Ip that you should use to modify modem.

After you get into modem you also may change to DNS to match the Modems might be better for web browsing it doesn't effect the servers functioning

Screen Shot Ipv4 Settings also

If your server and client are running on the same machine use 127.0.0.1:2593 to connect with Razor.
If your server is on a different computer than the client you use 192.168.123.173:2593 to connect with Razor.

Your serverlist and people out side of your local area network should use your WAN IP.

Oh yeah, I remember you from the olden days.

He has two routers on same connection.

1. Modem is a Router Preforming NAT
2. Router2 is a Router Preforming NAT

Only way this will work is putting a pass through in the first modem/Router to the second Router and the setting the second routers pass through to the PC

So if he cant get to config page of the Modem/router he cant pass through the Port 2593

Mortis

Knight
Yes. But he should be able to connect locally with out doing anything. Unless his firewall is blocking it.

EDIT: Just re read his post and noticed local is not mentioned.

yeah I have no problem connecting via LAN. I can connect using the same machine as the server, and my brother can connect on his computer. We both just use 192.168.123.173 to connect. The serverlist is set to that IP when we connect, it will not work if set to my WAN (which I had it set to earlier making my brother think the shard was down lol)

Also, I have no problem getting to the settings pages on either router or modem and I have had the passthrough set for a while now.

After fiddling around with it for 6 years, it's... well, boring without people. I would love to make it public again... and Hi Mortis, nice to see you again :)
